Today is World Children's Day
World Children's Day was first established in 1954 initially commencing as Universal Children's Day. It was created to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide and to improve children's welfare.
November 20 also marks the anniversary of the date that the "Declaration of the Rights of the Child" (1959) and the "Convention on the Rights of the Child" (1989) was accepted by the UN General Assembly.
