Centrecare’s Director, Tony Pietropiccolo AM, has been appointed to the inaugural Steering Committee of the Centre for Parenting Excellence.
The Centre for Parenting Excellence has been established by the Department of Local Government and Communities as part of the 2016 State Budget. It has been established to encourage best practice in parenting services, monitor parent support needs and evaluate the outcomes of the services provided. The Centre will work with the social community sector to improve the availability and the quality of parenting services across Western Australia. It will have a major role in coordinating and supporting organisations in the provision of parenting services. The Steering Committee will be co-Chaired by Ms Jennifer Mathews (Director General of the Department of Local Government and Communities) and Professor Stephen Zubrick (Winthrop Professsor, University of Western Australia and Telethon Kids Institute).
