Ben Schneiders for The Age
"With analysts now having had time to assess the effects of the recently delivered Federal Budget, we are seeing more and more reports in the media warning of severe consequences in the community, especially in relation to lower income earners. One of particular concern is the intention to leave unemployed under the age of 30 without any form of income support for periods of six months or longer. For those with family support this will by trying, however for those without support, estimated to be up to 100,000 individuals, there will be very few options and they could well be forced into homelessness. This creates a domino effect in that a homeless person will find it very difficult to not only find employment but maintain enough stability to continue in employment."
