Centrecare wants to create a welcoming and safe environment for all children who have contact with our services. To this end, we have been putting in a lot of work over the past few years to ensure our policies, procedures and processes are aligned with the 10 National Principles for Child Wellbeing and Safety.
This is about informing children of their rights and listening to them through child friendly and supportive feedback processes. Providing them with information in age appropriate and child friendly ways and consulting with them on matters that affect them.

We need to make sure we listen and take them seriously and support them to express any feedback or concerns they may have either personally - or about a situation - or around our service provision.
Our Valuing Children Initiative - VCI speaks a broader message to the community and in our family / parenting and children’s programs we are constantly promoting the safety and wellbeing of children in our direct service and group work.
Let’s celebrate Children’s Week by listening to the message in this video from children from across the world.
